I’m Iulian Atanasiu and this is the simple, personal story about how I became tour guide.
Back in 2008, it happened that I visited for the first time Timisoara. Coming from the swarming city of Bucharest, I was astonished by the general harmony of the town with its reasonable traffic, kind people, charming Bega Channel and the turbulent concert of facades, each of them trying to explain a historical moment.
This “love story” asked quickly for a relocation decision. And I did it! Four months later I moved from Bucharest to Timisoara. Soon, a bizarre curiosity urged me to find what is behind the City’s charm. And I started to read, to dig, to ask. Answers came and the dilemma was almost decrypted. Yes! The key stays in a complex local history with its permanent succession of cultures.
In 2013, I decided to share the others around my passion for the city’s past. So, I conducted a tour-guiding course, getting soon the local and national tour guide license. I started to conduct local guided tours. But I haven’t stopped there. Seeing how interconnected the regions are, I extended my guided tours from the local to regional level. Thus, today I can cover successfully with my tours the entire region of Banat and Transylvania.
My name is Ludovic Satmari, and I’m a city tour guide in Timisoara, Banat and Transylvania. I started guiding 14 years ago and because I enjoyed it, I’m still guiding 🙂 .
Actually, this is the ideea: I do it because I like to do it. I like to tell the stories of Timisoara, I like to visit the country side in Banat as well as I like to visit the old churches and castles in Transylvania. But what I like most is to see my tourists enjoying my tours – this worth all the effort.
Come and visit Timisoara, Banat and Transylvania – I look forward to meet you.
